SCROLL THROUGH THE STORY REEL BELOW

Spring is here.

Surely you have made plans to enjoy the new season under the new normal. As the temperature continues to rise, you probably are slowly getting busy engaging yourself in activities you weren't able to do during winter. With the new normal in mind, just make sure to heed health precautions as you go about ticking off your spring goals.

Speaking of goals, Australia's quest to flatten the curve may well be underway. However, the country is now faced with a new challenge: recession. An economic downturn has been predicted during the onset of the coronavirus. The recession was not only predicted in Australia. Just like its antecedent, the recession has been predicted to occur on a global scale. And it's now happening.

But what is a recession? How does it affect governments? More importantly, how does it affect the citizens? The first article in this month's selection offers new concepts in understanding recession while the second talks about the possible ways that an economy can recover.

In the previous issues of The Adviser's Notebook, I mentioned that the coronavirus has affected almost every industry we know. Some took a hard hit at the onset, such as the tourism, hospitality, and healthcare industries. Others, such as the property industry, are just feeling the effect now. The third article takes a look at how the property industry is faring during a pandemic, while the fourth looks at another investment type: retirement.

On another note, the internet has been playing its function to educate, entertain, and make work possible at a time when everyone is told to stay at home. Whereas people use it to keep themselves abreast of economic developments, others use it to earn as much money, and others use it to entertain themselves.

Speaking of entertainment, the possibility of traveling to other places is not at all impossible in Australia. The final article in this month's issue explores the ways that you can enjoy your travel plans all over Australia not only in spring but year-round.
